Inside a boiler service
This is how I service an Intergas Kombi Kompakt, one of the most common boilers I see.
- Open it up. The case comes off first.
- Then the front plate, with the gas valve and fan still attached.
- The heat exchanger is cleaned fin by fin, top to bottom, including the underside, where most of the dirt collects.
- The burner is checked and left alone. Intergas says it must not be cleaned.
- New gaskets, every time. A hardened seal can let flue gases escape.
- Then leaks, combustion, heating, hot water and pressure are all checked, and you hear what I found.

No. You can book a one-off service. Maintenance plans are available on request — ask me. The maintenance interval should follow the requirements for your boiler and its warranty.
